Bloom Description

Volunteer reports: Recent days have been partly sunny and moderately warm with cooler and very calm conditions overnight. No recent rain. The air temperature was 76F and the lake has been very calm, only slight breeze at the time of sampling. During the dead calm conditions in the morning some diffuse Cyanobacteria was visible throughout the surface water of the shoreline but only very faint streaks apparent at 9:30. After watching the water through late morning and early afternoon, the breeze picked up slightly and the resulting accumulation of Cyanobacteria at the edge of pondweed allowed for sufficient sampling. More distinct streaks also formed at that time.
