Bloom Description
small inlet along waterfront in the Village of Cayuga. The morning is breezy and sunny- 68F and 6mph winds from the west. The bloom was observed around 7:30 and the streaks were visible at least 25 feet out into the lake and along at least three lakefront properties. As the time passed the wind picked up and washed the floating bloom toward the edge of a mass of pondweed that had accumulated the a few days before during rain storms. We collected a sample at 8:50. The wind continues to break up the surface of the water but the bloom is not yet disappearing. Streaks are still visible and the water has a generally murky green cast.
