Bloom Chemistry
[1] Genera - plural of genus, a category of classification in biology that ranks between the family level and the species level. Because there are many different species of bacteria that are difficult to distinguish, it is more useful to classify bacteria by genus rather than species.

Bloom Description
Volunteer Reports: Open Water HAB; SW wind during the day creating some foam streamers. Wind stopped, hot and sunny. Worst HABs we have ever seen. Very thick. Stayed mainly on Cayuga side of the channel. My actual shoreline was clear for 10’ and we noticed slight HABs from our dock. The further from shore we got, the thicker it became. Worst yet! Still bad when we returned at 6:45.
